Duke Realty Corporation (DRE: NYSE), 1996-2009 (and predecessor Weeks Realty)
Managed Nashville office: 3,000,000 SF Industrial, 1,000,000 SF Office. Developed – Office, Bulk Industrial, Single-Story Office/flex. Duke was selected as Developer of the Year 2005 by NAIOP.

Managed 35 employee office – leasing, property management, construction, maintenance, and accounting.

Duties include strategic planning, site selection, site negotiations and contracting, planning and development, lease negotiations, budgeting and profit and loss responsibilities. Duties also include portfolio acquisition and disposition.

Developed 1,500,000 SF of Industrial and 500,000 SF of Office at a development cost in excess of $120,000,000 during Duke tenure.

Developed 1,000,000 SF of Industrial and Office with a combined development value in excess of $75,000,000 during Weeks/Duke tenure.

Served with CEO as one of two insiders on the Board of Directors. Served on the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors of Duke Realty and Weeks Realty. Investment Group (NWI) controlled one of the top 10 largest stock positions in Duke Realty.

GENERAL PARTNER

NWI Warehouse Group, Nashville, TN, 1980-1996.
Developed in excess of 3,000,000 SF of Industrial space in the Nashville, TN area. This included site acquisition and development, building construction and development. The Industrial building included Bulk, Office/Distribution, Single-story office and Flex. NWI specialized and led Nashville in owning and controlling large institutional grade industrial parks and buildings and was one of the leading and largest industrial development groups in Nashville. In 1995, NWI was sought after as a merger partner by Duke Realty, Weeks Corporation, ProLogis, Highwoods and First Industrial.

Since 1980 to present developed 6,000,000 SF of Office and Industrial and 1,000+ acres of developed land. Estimated dollar amount of development in excess of $400,000,000.

Negotiated the legal, accounting, and financial aspects of the $120,000,000 merger of the NWI merger with Weeks in 1996. Participated in tax and accounting issues of UPREIT issues with Duke Weeks merger in 1999.

PARTNER, 1990-2007

C & S Harley Davidson
In the mid 1980’s C & S was a small Harley-Davidson location occupying 2,500 square feet and selling 50 motorcycles per year. John W. Nelley, Jr. partnered with the owner and moved the location in 1990 to a new 10,000 SF store (later expanded to 20,000 SF) and selling in excess of 1,000 motorcycles per year. C & S was a state of the art, dynamic Harley-Davidson store featured on the cover of Hot Rod magazine and in numerous other publications. C & S was one of the top 10 dealers in the Southeast.

Responsibilities include site selection, construction and development, financing, financial statement oversight, legal and accounting. Also provide income tax, financial and strategic planning advice. Sold business in 2007.

 

RADIOLOGY CONSULTANT, BOARD MEMBER AND STOCKHOLDER, 1985-PRESENT

Reno Diagnostic Center (RDC)
Reno Diagnostic Center (RDC) owns two freestanding outpatient radiological diagnostic center in Reno, Nevada. The Center was established in 1985 with the first MRI in Northern Nevada. RDC currently employs over 100 people, has 2 outpatient sites and features state-of-the-art radiological diagnostic equipment making it one of the most successful diagnostic centers in Northern Nevada.

For 15 years was active in Income Tax & Estate Planning and Real Estate. Represented many leading Nashville real estate development companies. Functions included site location, zoning, contract negotiations, lease negotiations, financing, entity organization, income, and estate tax planning.
